Not everyone can take the time to participate in a data science training, bootcamp, or class. For some people, periodically working through a new tutorial or reading about "what's new" with the industry is the most exposure they get. Well, guess what? You don't have to be a data scientist to use data! Everyday, whether you know it or not, people are using data to make decisions:

  • Teachers
  • Engineers
  • Healthcare Professionals
  • Managers
  • Entrepreneurs
  • Marketers

That's a very short list because it could go one forever, but everyone uses data whether they know it or not. What we're all about is teaching everyone how to use data to discover new insights and make well informed decisions.

About our Founder

Our founder, Raja Iqbal, has been in a data related role for 15+ years. After getting a PhD in Computer Science from Tulane University, Raja spent more than 6 years at Microsoft Bing in various software engineering roles. He found his real passion was teaching his co-workers about the various concepts and theories behind the machine learning tools they were using.

While at Bing, he started a Meetup group in Seattle called Data Science Dojo. Every couple of months he would give a presentation to the public. With the mission to make data science accessible to everyone, Raja left his then current job at Microsoft to begin Data Science Dojo as a business (DSDaaB) teaching data science bootcamps around the world (online data science certificate now available). After all, our motto is Data Science for Everyone.

Our Community

We realize our bootcamps aren't accessible to everyone, no matter how hard we try. One of the benefits of our data science bootcamp is our fantastic network of alumni. From them we have created a community of data scientists allowing us to continue what Raja began.

A Data Science Blog's only one tool to increase data science accessibility. There isn't one correct way to learn, so we also create video tutorials and host Meetups to continue learning and create discussion. The data science community we're fostering is here to learn, teach, and inspire through high quality content for all stages of the learning process.
